Summer Trail Revival ☀️🪏

Summer is when Triangle trails get hammered: heat, storms, overgrowth, drainage issues, erosion, and worn signage and flags; but the trailheads are filled with happy, high frequency riders. And TORC’s volunteers keep showing up: but we need tools, materials, new software licenses, additional insurances, and your financial support to bring it together. Please make a gift to the Summer Trail Revival and help us prepare for the fall.

What's coming in the fall? TORC is working to increase our total trail mileage for you with strategic growth on all fronts:
🪏We made a major financial commitment to Old Creedmoor Nature Preserve and are helping build the tools, shed, and volunteer systems needed to support long-term stewardship there.
🪏 We are relaunching redesigned trail at Briar Chapel, including Bennett Mountain, Catullo, and Herndon, with a community event on August 22.
🪏 We are building the first long flow trail in the Triangle, launching in the coming weeks.
🪏 We are preparing a September RTP grant application for Briar Chapel that could turn volunteer labor and donor momentum into a much larger trail investment.
🪏 We are advancing a formal Harris Lake trail assessment to help Wake County prioritize safety, drainage, maintenance, and future improvements.
🪏 We were awarded an IMBA Trail Accelerator Grant that will help carry today’s gifts and planning momentum into 2027.

I am new to exploring the local triangle trails but already loving them! Thanks for making these little escapes possible, TORC.

Every time I run or ride on a TORC maintained trail I have a good time. Maybe it’s the exercise induced endorphins, but it always makes me want to share that with people. I know these trails don’t build or maintain themselves, so it’s cool ...
