Simple Education Foundation
SEF designs and implements state-wide training programs for teachers & principals, to make learning more engaging & impactful.
Every child deserves a great teacher. We’re building a million of them.
In 2013, Simple Education Foundation started with one community learning center in Delhi and a simple belief: when you empower teachers, you transform classrooms.
Today, that belief has reached 160,000+ teachers and students across Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir. We partner directly with state governments, co-designing training and coaching programs with educators, so the change lasts long after we leave the room.
- 2016: Trained 85,000+ teachers in Jammu & Kashmir
- 2017: Launched Centers of Excellence in Delhi’s government primary schools
- 2021: Began working with Delhi’s SCERT on competency-based teacher training
- 2022: Launched Teachers for Tomorrow, preparing future educators before they enter the classroom
- 2026: Working with 3 state governments and leading their Teacher Development and Foundational Learning Missions, reaching 1,60,000 teachers and 4,000,000 children
Our teams have been named fellows by Acumen, Teach For All, and the Dalai Lama Program. We’ve also been certified a Great Place to Work three years running.
Our goal is 1 million teachers by 2028, so a child in a government school gets the same chance to learn as any other.
Your gift puts a better teacher in front of a child. Join us.

Runway of Hope 2026 | Support Public Schools in India
Every child deserves a teacher who believes in them and knows how to help them learn. In India's government schools, millions of teachers want to do exactly that, but rarely get the support to grow. Simple Education Foundation started in 2013 with a simple belief: if we invest in teachers, children learn. Our founders began as classroom teachers in Delhi, and that experience still shapes everything we do. Today we work alongside state governments in Delhi, Punjab and Uttarakhand to strengthen how teachers are trained and supported. In Punjab alone, our teacher development programme runs across 23 districts. Through Teachers For Tomorrow, we also work with 1,000 trainee teachers across 4 institutes, so new teachers walk into classrooms ready from day one. Governments already fund much of the work on the ground. Your contribution helps us do what they can't easily do alone: build the partnerships, coaching models and simple tools that make good teaching possible at scale, and that governments can carry forward for years. When you support SEF, you support a teacher. And every teacher reaches a classroom full of children.

Neeyah x SEF | Supporting public education in India 🇮🇳
Neeyah is building a more intentional and democratic culture of giving in India by connecting purpose-driven philanthropists with high-impact, diligently vetted nonprofits. Simple Education Foundation (SEF) is proud to be one of their selected partners. SEF works closely with state governments to strengthen public education through whole-school transformation and high-quality teacher professional development across Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Punjab. Contributions made by you will equip teachers and school leaders with the tools, practices, and mindsets needed to improve learning for every child. Today, SEF supports more than 1,50,000 teachers across 21,000+ schools, reaching over 4 million children — and your support will deepen and expand this impact across Delhi, Uttarakhand and Punjab. Together, we can build strong public schools that enable every child to thrive.
