In 2017, a Cambridge-certified teacher and his wife, a PhD in Physics, were deeply moved by a shared vision: a school that would equip students with the skills to solve real-world problems. What began as a dream has blossomed into a revolution. Together, they created a space where students don’t just learn from books—they learn from life itself.
At Roots & Wings Academy, learning is shaped by design thinking and hands-on experiences. Students grow their own food, visit local communities, and tackle social issues head-on, turning everyday moments into powerful lessons. It is a place where knowledge meets action, where students become problem-solvers for a better tomorrow.
Founded on December 26, 2017, the Academy took flight thanks to the generous support of a Doctor Scientist, Dr Patrick D Walker and his Social Worker wife, Ms Gail Walker from Arkansas, USA. To further fuel the vision, we sold our house, parted with my wife’s treasured jewelry, and emptied all our savings, dedicating every ounce of ourselves to the school.
This is more than a career—it is our life’s calling.
In June 2018, Roots & Wings Academy opened its doors to 91 students. Today, we are proud to mentor 455 students, providing a values-based education that aligns with the CBSE curriculum, while also nurturing critical life skills.
As we look ahead, our goal is to expand and build state-of-the-art facilities. The new campus will include cutting-edge labs, robotics and 3D printing centers, a hostel, and workshops to further deepen our commitment to experiential learning.
But our mission extends beyond academics. Our specialized social programs are transforming lives:
School of Finance: Supporting 12-15 Chartered Accountant aspirants yearly, we have helped 4 students become CAs, and have helped over 20 aspirants clear their intermediate exams. We have even produced a certified Company Secretary!
Hostel for Tribal Girls: We offer accommodation and job training to 24 girls from disadvantaged tribes every year, empowering them to become the breadwinners for their families.
Readymade Garments Project: This initiative provides employment to over 500 rural women, helping them achieve financial independence through tailoring skills.

We have acquired a 1-acre plot in the heart of the city, and construction is progressing swiftly. However, to see this project through to completion, we need your support.
