Many students in underserved schools have limited access to laboratories, equipment, and practical science education. Our Trust proposes a hybrid solution: one Mobile Science Lab will visit six schools every week, supported by a permanent Science Corner in each school.

The mobile laboratory will provide experiments, demonstrations, digital STEM tools, and trained instruction. The Science Corners will allow students and teachers to continue simple practical activities between visits.

What the project will provide

  • Weekly visits to all six schools (with more than 300 middle and high school students in each school)
  • Approximately 4.5 to 6 hours of teaching at each school visit
  • Hands-on science and STEM sessions for students
  • Training and support for school teacher coordinators
  • Practical modules on water, agriculture, health, energy, sanitation, and climate
  • Science clubs, student projects, and an annual science exhibition
  • Monitoring of student participation and learning outcomes

Team

  • Programme Manager: Salary covered by the Trust
  • Mobile Science Educator: Leads teaching and student activities
  • Laboratory Technician-cum-Driver: Manages equipment, safety, logistics, and transport
  • Curriculum Advisers: Volunteers supporting lesson and activity design
  • School Teacher Coordinators: Provided and supported by participating schools
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Support: Tracks progress and outcomes

Funding requirement

Estimated startup cost for the vehicle, equipment, and six Science Corners:

$60,000 to $110,000 (USD)

Estimated annual operating cost:

$25,000 to $42,000 (USD)

This excludes the Programme Manager’s salary and volunteer curriculum support, which will be provided by the Trust.

The recommended first-year fundraising target is approximately:

$85,000 to $152,000 (USD)

Funds will support:

  • Mobile laboratory setup
  • Science equipment and digital STEM tools
  • Six school Science Corners
  • Educator and technician salaries
  • Fuel, maintenance, and insurance
  • Consumables and teacher support
  • Monitoring, safety, and reporting

Why this model matters

This is more than a vehicle or equipment project. It is a shared science-learning service that will give six schools regular access to practical education while building permanent capacity within each school.

One mobile laboratory. Six schools. Thousands of opportunities to learn by doing.**More than 1500 students impacted with each Lab.**

Support this initiative to help students experiment, question, design, and solve problems connected to their own communities.

First of its kind experiential learning & LifeSkills school focusing on STEM, HumanValues, Research ProblemSolving, DesignThinking
