Theater

Progressive Theater is a Pennsylvania 501(c)(3) public charity building accessible, youth-centered pathways into the arts and entertainment industries. Through planned programs in theater, dance, filmmaking, photography, gaming, and visual arts, young people ages 12 to 18 will develop creative skills, confidence, teamwork, and exposure to career possibilities.

Progressive Theater has documented approximately 40 participants across four pop-up events and is building the equipment, partnerships, and permanent creative home needed for sustained programming. Contributions support accessible arts education, equipment, mentors, community events, and a permanent home where young creators can learn, create, perform, and belong.

Our Future Home and Creative Arts Center campaign seeks $537,000 through July 31, 2027, to support facility acquisition or lease, renovation and accessibility, equipment, classrooms, creative spaces, an auditorium, launch staffing, and reserves.

Help Provide Holiday Meals and Toys to Philadelphia Families

Progressive Theater is preparing two free community distributions for underserved Philadelphia-area families during the 2026 holiday season. • Thanksgiving Grocery and Turkey Box Distribution — November 20, 2026, at NextFab on American Street in Philadelphia. • Holiday Toy Distribution — December 20, 2026, at NextFab, with a goal of serving approximately 100–150 children ages 5–16. Donations will help provide groceries, turkey boxes, age-appropriate toys, packaging and distribution supplies, transportation, and other direct event needs. Donated funds and products will be used for charitable distribution and will not be resold. If a specific event need is fully funded, remaining contributions will support Progressive Theater’s future free community giveaways and accessible youth arts programming. Your support will help families enjoy nourishing holiday meals and give children a joyful gift during the Christmas season.

Help Progressive Theater Build a Permanent Creative Home

Progressive Theater is a Pennsylvania 501(c)(3) public charity creating accessible, youth-centered pathways into theater, dance, filmmaking, photography, gaming, and visual arts. Our goal is to raise $537,000 by July 31, 2027, to help acquire and prepare a permanent creative arts center in the Greater Philadelphia region. A stable home will allow Progressive Theater to move beyond occasional pop-up events and build consistent, year-round opportunities where young people can learn, create, rehearse, perform, and explore careers in the arts and entertainment industries. Contributions may support property acquisition and related due diligence, renovation and accessibility improvements, classrooms and creative studios, an auditorium and performance areas, production and educational equipment, safety and security needs, launch staffing, and responsible operating reserves. Our long-term vision is a welcoming, accessible facility with enough room for multiple programs, performances, community events, equipment, mentors, and future growth. Every contribution—large or small—moves Progressive Theater closer to a permanent home where young creators can build skills, confidence, community, and opportunity.
