In rural Guatemala, progress often comes down to one missing piece: a computer, a clean stove, a safe roof, a scholarship. ProChapina exists to provide those missing links — practical tools that open real opportunities for children, women, and families to rebuild their lives with dignity.
Rooted in community, every project is designed to solve a specific barrier to wellbeing. Here's how we’re making change — and what it takes to do it:
The 7 Projects Powering Change
- Digital Learning Centers
Opening access to technology for children and women through computer-equipped classrooms, building digital literacy and future-ready skills.
Annual budget needed: $10,000
Includes laptops, desks, printers, internet access, and tech support.
- Eco-Stove Initiative
Distributing clean-burning industrial stoves to reduce health risks and help families start small, sustainable businesses.
Cost per industrial stove: $300
Annual target: 50 stoves | Total: $15,000
Each stove helps a family cook safely and often launch a microbusiness.
- Artisan Workshops
Training women and youth to create handmade crafts — eco-bags, bracelets, and dolls — turning creativity into economic independence.
Annual budget needed: $6,000
Covers instructor stipends, supplies, and seed capital for artisans.
- Child Sponsorship Program
Matching donors with children to fund education, reduce child labor, and provide vital school support.
$45/month per child | 60 children | Annual total: $32,400
Covers tuition, uniforms, school supplies, transportation, and mentorship.
- Educational Scholarships
Helping high school and university students from low-income backgrounds pursue their academic goals without interruption.
$750/year per student | 25 students | Total: $18,750
Supports tuition, learning materials, internet access, and exams.
- Health & Wellness Program
Providing free medical, dental, and nutritional care to underserved communities, including mobile clinics and access to medication.
Annual budget: $12,000
Includes medical supplies, healthcare professional fees, and rural outreach.
- Safe Housing Support
Improving or building dignified homes — bathrooms with hot water, clean floors, and secure structures.
$3,500 per family | 12 homes/year | Annual total: $42,000
Focuses on families in extreme poverty, especially single mothers and children.
“Our bathroom used to be a health hazard. Now, we have hot water, space, and dignity — thanks to ProChapina.”

Our Most Ambitious Dream: The ProChapina Community Home
Beyond individual programs, our greatest and most heartfelt goal is to build a permanent community home — a dedicated, multi-use facility where education, healing, empowerment, and belonging come together.
This Cultural and Educational Center will include:
- Computer labs for students and digital literacy
- Artisan classrooms and co-creation space
- Childcare and early learning area
- Community kitchen for training and nutrition
- Mental health and wellness room
- Multi-purpose classrooms and mentorship hubs
Estimated cost for land, construction, and setup: $125,000
This home will serve as an anchor for generations — a living legacy of dignity, education, and opportunity.
Every donation matters. Every project restores dignity. Every supporter becomes a part of something greater than charity — a movement of lasting change.
Together, we are not just filling gaps. We are building the future.
