Standing With Edy López — A Father Fighting for His Life
- Raised
- $40
- Goal
- $8,000
Edy Josué López Martínez is a 26-year-old father who has been diagnosed with acute leukemia (AML), one of the most aggressive forms of this disease. Since receiving this diagnosis, Edy has been fighting every day for his life, enduring intensive treatments that take a heavy physical, emotional, and financial toll.
Leukemia is a disease that has no cure, but it can be treated. Treatment offers time, hope, and the possibility of life—but it comes at a cost that is overwhelming for a young family facing this reality alone.
This fundraiser exists not only for Edy, but for his daughter, Sofía.
Sofía is a little girl who is part of the ProChapina community. Each day, she asks questions no child should have to ask:
When will my daddy come back so we can play princesses?
When will my daddy come back to paint with me?
When will my daddy come back to put me to sleep?
She does not understand illness or hospitals. She only knows that her father is gone, and that she is waiting.
Edy’s greatest strength comes from his daughter. His deepest wish is not only to survive, but to return home—to be present, to hold her hand, to watch her grow, and to continue being the father she needs and loves.
We are raising funds to support Edy’s leukemia treatment, so he can continue fighting, so Sofía does not lose her father, and so this family is not forced to face this battle alone.
