Founded by J.R.D. Tata in 1970, Population Foundation of India (PFI), is a leading national organisation in India, advancing gender equality, reproductive justice, and population health and well-being through evidence-based interventions on ground and digital platforms partnerships, and social transformation.
PFI works closely with governments, civil society, and media to promote evidence-based policies, strengthen public systems, and empower communities, particularly women and young people to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing.
Our work spans social and behaviour change communication, digital innovations such as SnehAI, a chatbot designed for young people to share concerns and learn about issues related to sexual and reproductive health as well as online safety, and Educately, an e-learning platform and digital resource focusing on adolescent health and well-being.
We also conduct research and strategic engagement to support evidence-based policymaking and implement large-scale programmes to expand access to family planning and adolescent health services.
