Okavango Human Wildlife Foundation -supports raising awareness on human wildlife conflict, stakeholder networking and resource mobilisation for participatory wildlife conservation and improved livelihoods for those affected by wildlife conflicts. The Foundation serves as a socially responsible group, sharing experiences for improved wildlife conservation.

MISSION: To mitigate human -wildlife conflicts, document and share indigenous knowledge, and provide support and resources to those affected by wildlife related incidents through community-based initiatives and strategic partnerships.

VISION: To foster a harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife in the Okavango region by promoting awareness, supporting victim's conflicts, and leveraging indigenous knowledge.

OUR SERVICES:

  1. Provide support to wildlife conflict victims and facilitation with relevant stakeholders.

  2. Increase awareness, Education and conflict management through target learning

  3. Provision psycho-social support, burial insurances policy and medical insurance of the victims caused by wild animals.

  4. Stakeholders networking, management and maintenance of the relationship for effective and efficient human and wildlife encounters.

  5. Clinical support and rehabilitation i.e. conduct quarterly clinical checks -ups for permanently injured victims.

PAST AND CURRENT ACTIVITIES

  1. Annual Charity Golf Tournament Since 2022 to up to date to be played on the 11th of October 2025 in Orapa Golf Course, Botswana.

  2. Domestic Water connection Donation-2022

3 . (2) TWO Washing Machines Donation to victims -15th November 2022

  1. Suspended Timber House to Ms Magatalina Merero valued Bwp 80.000.00 in partnership with Camp Logic Company on the 12t April 2025.

FUTURE PLANNED ACTIVITIES

  1. Okavango project ; Hydroponics Training Center -Food Security to empower the community and to support human wildlife conflicts victims those permanently injured .

  2. Okavango road Race- 30th May 2026- Raise awareness on human wildlife coexistence between human and animals in Okavango region and other regions in Botswana.
