OIPA - International Organization for Animal Protection - is a global NGO committed to defending animal rights and dedicated to the protection of animals from cruelty, abuse and exploitation worldwide.

OIPA is dedicated to creating a world free from cruelty. Our mission is to promote the respect and protection of all animals, regardless of species, and to work towards a world where animals are treated with kindness and compassion.

We actively engage in national and international initiatives to address a wide range of animal welfare issues, including:

  • Caring for Animals in Need: OIPA rescues, rehabilitates, and provides care for injured, sick, and abandoned animals. We also support stray animals and provide assistance to those in shelters and sanctuaries.
  • Ending Animal Cruelty and Exploitation: We advocate for the abolition of fur farming, intensive livestock practices, and animal testing. We work to improve the living conditions of animals.
  • Protecting Wildlife: We fight against hunting, wildlife trade, and the confinement of animals in zoos and aquariums.
  • Educating and Advocating: We organize educational programs to raise awareness and empower individuals to take action, promoting ethical treatment of animals. We participate in protests, demonstrations, and legal actions to advance animal rights legislation and policies.

By combining direct action, advocacy, and education, OIPA strives to build a compassionate and sustainable future for all animals.

OIPA's headquarters in Italy oversees operations across over 110 provinces, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and authorized animal control officers. These volunteers respond to reports of animal cruelty and abuse from citizens.

OIPA's global network empowers volunteers worldwide to address local animal welfare issues. Through collaborations with our member associations in various countries, we can have a significant impact on countless animals worldwide.

LET’S HELP ANIMALS IN UKRAINE: FOOD AND FIREWOOD FOR SHELTER

Animals at Gorod Cobak shelter  in Mykolaiv, Ukraine,  is urgently asking for help. Their guests, nearly 200 dogs, need food and wood for warmth as they await the arrival of spring. Caught in a conflict which has been lasting for years, animals in Ukraine deserve our compassion and support. They currently lack firewood to heat the shelter and food for their four-legged guests. With this fundraiser we would like to give these little dogs: 4 cubic meters for one month of firewood (one cubic meter costs 3500 UAH or 78 euros). Total cost for one month: 312 euros 2325 kg of dog food for one month (daily cost of food is 6900 UAH or 154 euros). Total cost of one month: 4783 euros To get through the end of winter, the Gorod Cobak shelter’s dogs need your help! Together we can make a difference and save animals from the famine caused by the war.

Your Help Can Save a Stray

Often, we remain unaware of the conditions faced by animals in other nations and how strays are treated in specific places. However, when we uncover the truth, it becomes evident that the list of countries where animal welfare falls below even the minimum standard is alarmingly long. Strays are often not recognized as sentient beings capable of feeling emotions such as joy and happiness, as well as fear, pain, and sadness. Instead, they are viewed merely as “a nuisance to public health and safety,” leading to inhumane, cruel, and barbaric methods of control. In the view of these extremely painful realities and considering the so many calls for help that OIPA International receives daily from its delegations and member league associations, the organization has decided to launch a project  to give voice and offer a tangible help to stray dogs and cats  who have no choice, and invisible continue to suffer every day around the world. Supporting our project “SAVE A STRAY”, you will help us with: 🥫 FOOD  wet, dry and specific food for animals; 🩹 VET CARE AND TREATMENT  provide veterinary care and assistance to strays in need – including spaying and neutering, core/rabies vaccinations, medicines and medications, parasite treatments, internal/external/complex surgeries, diagnosis and examinations, therapies and recovery, blood/other tests; 🏡 FOSTER AND ADOPTION  pay relocation, foster and rehome of stray animals suitable for adoption, offering them a chance of a better life; 📘 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES  prepare educational programmes and informative material addressed to communities, schools and municipalities regarding the topic of responsible pet ownership, and the correct approach and management of local stray animals;
