National Marine Mammal Foundation

The National Marine Mammal Foundation (NMMF) is a San Diego, CA-based nonprofit organization recognized globally as a leader in marine mammal science, medicine, and conservation. The NMMF's mission is to improve and protect life for marine mammals, humans, and our shared oceans through science, service, and education. They conduct innovative research to answer critical questions about aquatic mammal and ocean health and to benefit the conservation of species worldwide.

The NMMF's team of scientists, veterinarians, conservation experts, and educators is tackling some of the most pressing challenges facing our oceans, marine mammals, and our coastal ecosystems.

Through their endangered species program, Operation GRACE: Global Rescue of At-Risk Cetaceans and Ecosystems, they are on the frontlines of preventing extinctions, hand-in-hand with local communities and species experts across the globe.

They are committed to inspiring and empowering future generations of ocean leaders by providing immersive STEAM programs, engaging thousands of students each year through marine science-based workshops, field trips, internships, an mentorship opportunities.
