Msomi Academy partners with Kenyans to educate children so they can improve their lives and the lives of their communities.
Our mission is to partner with communities to build educational experiences that improve quality of life, empower leaders, foster collaborative relationships, and encourage reciprocal learning. Benya Msomi Academy in Kisii, Kenya, provides a safe haven for primary school children (ages 4-14) who are orphaned and/or have dangerous situations at home through boarding facilities that are not generally offered at the primary school level. The approximately 400 students who attend Benya Msomi Academy get a lunch meal every day (not offered at every school) and the young ones are now receiving breakfast as well. Msomi is also working with a Maasai community in the Kajiado area to dig a well so that the women and girls no longer have to walk 20 miles round trip every day to fetch water. This will save them significant time and allow them to engage in on-site education so they can work to improve their community's quality of life.
