*Our mission is to provide access to and opportunities through volleyball for everyone who wants to play.*

Volleyball is the #1 girls team sport in the country, and one of the fastest growing sports for boys in the country. The sport matters because it provides a source of joy and connection, a venue for critical life lessons, and ultimately, a pathway to educational and economic advancement.

The LOVB Foundation exists to give more young people access to volleyball and to the life-changing opportunities the sport creates. Working closely with clubs across the country, the LOVB Foundation helps young people get the financial aid they need to stay in the game—and reap lifelong benefits.

Volleyball is a catalyst for empowerment of young people, girls in particular. Its benefits are powerful and far-reaching, from an athlete’s personal and holistic growth to understanding how to make a team and community successful.  Unique to volleyball, athletes learn in a fast-paced, interdependent environment with scoring on every exchange and constant feedback from teammates and coaches.  These lessons, imparted through the sports of volleyball, shape young people into great athletes and teammates—and prepare them for life.

Altitude Financial Aid

My name is Mateo Fuerbringer, and my team and I have the incredible opportunity to compete in Italy this winter! Playing at the international level is an amazing chance for me to grow as an athlete, gain valuable experience, and represent our team abroad.

The last time we went international, we won **both tournaments** we entered and had an unforgettable time exploring new cities and cultures. This year, we’ll be competing again in the prestigious **MOMA Tournament**, along with several exhibition matches against top Italian teams.

To make this trip possible, I’m raising funds to help cover travel expenses for me and my team. Any amount—big or small—makes a real difference and helps me keep chasing my volleyball goals.

I’m raising money to help my mom and dad pay for volleyball, club fees, and uniforms. My favorite part about volleyball is getting to go to practices and getting to learn all of the new skills our coaches are teaching us. Volleyball has taught so much it has taught me that you need to have a positive mindset either on the sidelines or the court. It has also taught me to always be a good teammate no matter what.

**At VC United, we believe that every young athlete deserves the opportunity to pursue their passion for volleyball, regardless of financial circumstances.**
In honor of Bill Messenger—a beloved father, mentor, and unwavering supporter of VC United—we proudly announce the establishment of the **Let’s Go Scholarship**: a scholarship designed to provide financial assistance to kids who dream of playing club volleyball but face financial barriers.

**Honoring a Legacy: Bill Messenger, the “Let’s Go” of VC United**

Bill Messenger was more than just a dedicated father—he was the heart and soul of VC United’s foundation. From the very beginning, Bill was one of the first to champion the vision of VC United, encouraging others in the volleyball community to believe in and invest in something greater than themselves.

To his three daughters, Bill was a hero—strong, selfless, and always lifting those around him. To the VC United family, he was a guiding light, ensuring that every player had the opportunity to succeed both on and off the court. His famous sideline cheer—**“Let’s Go!”**—became a rallying cry of encouragement and unity that we continue to carry with us.

In the fall of 2024, we lost Bill Messenger. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit and dedication to youth volleyball live on. The **Let’s Go Scholarship** will carry forward his legacy by making club volleyball accessible to those who may otherwise be unable to afford it.

**The Let’s Go Scholarship: Breaking Barriers, Building Futures**

Through the support of the League One Volleyball (LOVB) Foundation, the **Let’s Go Scholarship** will provide young athletes with financial assistance—covering club fees that often place competitive volleyball out of reach for many families.

With the **Let’s Go Scholarship**, we will:

- **Provide opportunity** to athletes who are passionate about the game but face financial limitations.

The "Let's Go" Scholarship at VC United

This December, Griffin is packing his bags (and his winter coat) to join Team Rockstar in Italy! Yes, he’s taking his talents overseas—to the land of pasta, ancient ruins, and volleyball players who spike like gladiators.

Now, while they will definitely sneak in a little fun (because...Italy!), this trip is far from a vacation. He’ll be competing on an international stage, learning from elite athletes, and chasing his volleyball dreams. This is a huge step in testing his skills and seeing what he’s made of against some of the best in the WORLD!
