Volleyball is the #1 girls team sport in the country, and one of the fastest growing sports for boys in the country. The sport matters because it provides a source of joy and connection, a venue for critical life lessons, and ultimately, a pathway to educational and economic advancement.

The LOVB Foundation exists to give more young people access to volleyball and to the life-changing opportunities the sport creates. Working closely with clubs across the country, the LOVB Foundation helps young people get the financial aid they need to stay in the game—and reap lifelong benefits.

Volleyball is a catalyst for empowerment of young people, girls in particular. Its benefits are powerful and far-reaching, from an athlete’s personal and holistic growth to understanding how to make a team and community successful.  Unique to volleyball, athletes learn in a fast-paced, interdependent environment with scoring on every exchange and constant feedback from teammates and coaches.  These lessons, imparted through the sports of volleyball, shape young people into great athletes and teammates—and prepare them for life.

Gainesville Juniors Financial Aid Fund

My name is Mateo Fuerbringer, and my team and I have the incredible opportunity to compete in Italy this winter! Playing at the international level is an amazing chance for me to grow as an athlete, gain valuable experience, and represent our team abroad.

The last time we went international, we won **both tournaments** we entered and had an unforgettable time exploring new cities and cultures. This year, we’ll be competing again in the prestigious **MOMA Tournament**, along with several exhibition matches against top Italian teams.

To make this trip possible, I’m raising funds to help cover travel expenses for me and my team. Any amount—big or small—makes a real difference and helps me keep chasing my volleyball goals.

Hi, my name is Kai. I love volleyball and hope to one day play in college. Being on the travel team is a huge step in that direction! I play this game all year long even on the beach! I  love volleyball so much and I’m doing this fundraiser to help my parents afford to help play this game I love! We live over an hour away from practice and being a National team we also play far away at some of the bigger tournaments across the country! **11-Year-Old Twins with Big Dreams and a Love for Volleyball**

Hi! We are **India and Ivy Upshaw**, 11-year-old twins in the 6th grade living in **St. Augustine, Florida**. We love school, our family, and most of all — **volleyball**.

We have been training in volleyball camps for the past few years and have proudly played on **YMCA 11-and-under teams** as well as our **middle school volleyball team** here in St. Augustine. Volleyball has taught us teamwork, discipline, confidence, and how to push ourselves to be better every day.

Our mom is a **single parent and full-time caregiver for our grandmother**. She does everything she can to support us, but covering the cost for *two* children to play competitive volleyball just isn’t possible right now. Even so, she wanted to give us the opportunity to continue growing in a sport we love.

We work hard at school and at home, and we are proud to say we have **good grades** and strive to be kind, responsible, and respectful people.

Outside of volleyball, we’re creative too:

- **Ivy** plays in the school band and loves creating art.
- **India** is a digital artist who designs flyers and logos.
- Together, we help run a **graphic T-shirt business** with our mom, learning creativity, entrepreneurship, and teamwork.

We are seeking donations to help cover the costs of volleyball training, uniforms, tournament fees, and related expenses so we can continue playing, learning, and growing both on and off the court.

Every donation — big or small — helps us move closer to our goals and reminds us that our community believes in us. 💙

Meet India and Ivy 

Kaylin Collins (#23) has found her true calling on the volleyball court. As a dedicated member of **1Flight Volleyball Club,** she is a vital asset to her team and a well-rounded player with the versatility to contribute in multiple positions, including **Defensive Specialist (DS), Libero (LIB), and Outside Hitter (OH).** Her passion for the game is undeniable—she shows up ready to work, ready to learn, and ready to compete.

Volleyball is more than just a sport for Kaylin; it’s where she *feels confident, focused, and fully herself.* She hopes to continue playing throughout high school and is aspiring to one day be recruited to play at the collegiate level. Club volleyball has played a huge role in her growth as an athlete, teammate, and young woman.

After her father’s passing last year, the family has encountered numerous hurdles and financial difficulties. Despite these challenges, Kaylin’s passion for volleyball remained unwavering. It has become even more important to her, serving as a distraction from her pain and grief as she channels her energy into the game. Any contribution—big or small—would mean the world and help ensure she can continue playing the sport she loves.
