In Korea, about four children are diagnosed with cancer every day, and approximately 12,000 children receive treatment for cancer each year. A child’s sudden illness can place a family in financial hardship and lead to various psychological and social challenges, as treatment often requires an extended period. Fortunately, unlike what we see in movies or TV dramas, childhood cancer is no longer an incurable illness. With advancements in medical treatment, 80% of children with cancer are completely cured and can lead healthy lives if they receive proper care.

The Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation is committed to providing social services for children with cancer so that they can receive the medical treatment they need and return to society in good health. To ensure that no child discontinues treatment due to financial difficulties, we provide financial support for treatment costs. Additionally, we offer a range of professional support services beyond psychological therapy to help children and their families return to a healthy life after treatment. We are dedicated to offering various professional support services to help children with cancer and their families find hope and regain their health.

With the development of medical treatment, 80% of children with cancer are completely cured and lead a healthy lives if they get proper treatment. Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation has a commitment to providing social services for children with cancer so that they can receive medical treatment and return to society healthily. We will do our best for the children with cancer and their families to find hope and health by providing various professional support services. <Services> Founded in Korea in 1991 as the country’s first non-profit foundation specializing in pediatric cancer, we provide a range of services for children with cancer and their families. We offer financial assistance to children facing economic hardships due to high treatment costs, including support for treatment expenses, transplant costs, and rehabilitation fees. To ensure that all children receive adequate treatment regardless of their residence, we currently operate 11 shelters and 5 service centers across the country. These shelters are designed to efficiently support children with cancer and their families who must travel long distances for medical care. Our shelters and service centers provide temporary accommodation and offer various activities to promote emotional development and stress relief for children, along with counseling, art therapy, and play therapy.
