The Forager School

In the summer of 2021, as the world began to reopen, something magical happened in our small coastal town of Gualala. With every new family we met, we would say, “We’re starting a preschool!” What began as a tiny pandemic playgroup in our home grew into The Forager School, a vital part of our community. Today, Forager includes a thriving preschool, a growing elementary school, and summer programs that welcomed 67 children this year. As our school grows, so does the need for tuition assistance, particularly for families waiting to receive county-funded preschool subsidies. As the county’s subsidized-care landscape shifts, many families who would have previously qualified for state-supported childcare have been waitlisted for funds. This year, we are committed to expanding our The Forager Fund so that new and returning families can continue to access high-quality education, regardless of financial barriers. Every contribution moves us closer to our goal and helps ensure children can continue to learn, explore, and thrive at The Forager School in the year ahead.
