Foi en Action/Faith in Action

Faith in Action is a community based organization, founded in 2003 by a team of 5 people in order to support women and children in extreme poverty caused by the crisis and cultural barriers in Burundi. In fact Burundi population is predominantly female (54.2%) and 74.1% of the population lives below the poverty line. Faith in Action coaches and supports disadvantaged and at risk women in Burundi through our holistic faith, family and community centred approach so that they become active, contributing members of their communities. ▪ Utilize Self Help Groups (SHG) made up of 15-20 people (90%are women) ▪ We support the members of SHG in four main areas: ○ Entrepreneurship: business plan development, individual coaching, creation of points of sell, harvest storage and connect them to market for the flow of their product. ○ Solidarity Funding: avail guarantee fund for Finance Institution connection and offer finance management training ○ Family support: birth and mariage registration facilitation, child development and protection, professional skills training and support ○ Life Skills: SRH, leadership skills and group therapy
