We were founded in Spain in 1992 in response to the HIV pandemic, with a dual mission: to care for those affected and to drive pioneering clinical research that has saved countless lives. Over the years, the deep understanding we have gained of the immune system—the very system targeted by HIV—has enabled us to confront infectious diseases in all their complexity.

As time has shown, infections are an inevitable part of the world we live in, and the future remains inherently unpredictable. Today, we address the major challenges posed by infectious diseases through six core areas of expertise, each encompassing multiple lines of action:
