We are EMERGENZ, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to innovating the way emergency services and mobile healthcare organizations serve their communities. We operate as a federation of organizations that work together supported by our hubs under a shared mission: using technology and collaboration to innovate and improve emergency response, mobile healthcare delivery, and disaster relief. Though we love tech, we keep our approach grounded and pragmatic – perfect for first responders, healthcare workers, and public safety organizations who may not have deep tech backgrounds. We’re here to bridge the gap between cutting-edge innovation and real-world emergency needs.

We operate uniquely at the intersection of multiple critical sectors. At our core is Mobile Health, a concept that embodies the seamless integration of Healthcare, Public Health, Public Safety, and Disaster Operations. This intersection defines our innovative approach, allowing us to address complex, multifaceted challenges efficiently.

We leverage this intersectional structure to develop collaborative, technology-driven solutions. By working at this nexus, we can predict resource needs, streamline communication, and optimize responses during crises, ensuring that communities receive comprehensive, integrated care exactly when and how they need it most.

EMERGENZ was founded by experienced first responders and mobile health professionals who saw firsthand that the status quo in emergency services wasn’t keeping up with modern challenges. First Responder and Mobile Health organizations are sliding into crisis due to a confluence of factors. “Crisis breeds innovation” became our mantra. After years of working within the emergency services, responding to extreme natural disasters, public health crises like COVID-19, while dealing with dwindling resources, our founders asked: What if we could harness new and emerging technologies to help emergency response and mobile health organizations out of crisis?

EMERGENZ is the answer to that question. Our team is a blend of mobile health clinicians, first responders, domain experts, and technologists. We bridge the gaps for organizations and communities, providing extra hands and high-tech tools where there are shortages or inefficiencies. By doing so, we help local heroes – EMTs, firefighters, nurses, emergency managers and more – do their jobs better and safer.

In the last two decades, first responder and mobile health organizations have been pushed to the brink. Heightened job demands, complex regulations, personnel retention, low reimbursements, increasing operating costs, climate-related disasters, and the strain of a global pandemic exposed critical weaknesses in the system. Many organizations lacked the expertise, resources, and long-term strategies to adapt. Our founders experienced this turmoil on the front lines and imagined a better way.

They envisioned an organization that embraces innovation to support those who save lives. EMERGENZ began as a small idea during the COVID-19 pandemic, when supply shortages and new needs (like telehealth and mass vaccinations) demanded rapid change. We saw how telemedicine became an overnight necessity, how data like wastewater analysis started guiding public health, and how communities expected on-demand testing and care. These changes proved that adaptation is possible – but not every agency could do it alone.

EMERGENZ formally launched to be that helping hand. We started building programs that could deploy technology, data, and manpower quickly to where they’re needed:

We set up internal “hubs” focusing on key areas (like Response, Education, Health, and Resources) to pilot new ideas and deliver services directly.

We established a federation model to partner with existing organizations across the country, so we can share innovations and resources on a broad scale.

We committed to being data-driven: pulling data from our programs and the field to develop innovative models and smart tools that improve over time. By learning from every response and service we provide, we can continually refine our solutions.

Today, EMERGENZ is based in San Francisco, the AI/tech capital of the world and adjacent to Silicon Valley’s wealth of innovation. This location gives us access to brilliant minds, tech partnerships, and cutting-edge research. Our Response and Education hubs are based in the New York Metro region and have a heritage pedigree from some of the finest first response organizations in the world.

 But our heart is wherever someone needs us – we think globally, act locally. From a small volunteer EMS department in the Northeast to a mobile health system on the West Coast, we tailor our support to fit local needs while maintaining a vision that spans the nation, and the globe.

At EMERGENZ, we practice servant leadership – meaning our leaders see themselves first and foremost as servants to our mission, our team, and our communities. This philosophy creates a supportive culture and better decisions in high-pressure situations. Our leadership team is comprised of seasoned professionals in emergency medicine, technology, and nonprofit management who guide the organization with humility and vision.

Our goal is to use our resources to bridge the gaps where they exist, providing assistance and alleviate operational and administrative burdens so that our partner organizations and responders can focus on doing what they do best- helping others

At EMERGENZ, we're committed to revolutionizing emergency services and mobile healthcare through innovation and collaboration. Our Mission: We’re launching the Mass Care Logistics Support Program (MCLSP), a groundbreaking initiative designed to prevent critical supply shortages like those experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. MCLSP builds deployable mobile units stocked with essential emergency medical equipment, trauma care items, and personal protective equipment (PPE). These mobile units are strategically positioned across the country, ready to rapidly deploy wherever they’re needed most. Why This Matters: When disaster strikes, minutes count. Emergency responders shouldn’t be waiting on back-ordered supplies or navigating inflated costs. Lives depend on immediate action and a reliable supply of surge capacity life-saving supplies and equipment. Our mobile response units ensure critical resources arrive exactly when and where they're needed, without delay. Specialty Emergency Apparatus Program

Help Equip First Responders with Life-Saving Technology When emergencies strike, every second counts. But too often, local first responders lack the specialized vehicles and equipment necessary to reach vulnerable communities quickly and safely. This is especially true in rural, rugged, or disaster-impacted areas. EMERGENZ is launching the Specialty Emergency Apparatus Program (SEAP) to bridge this critical gap by providing frontline responders with essential, hard-to-acquire vehicles and equipment such as brush fire vehicles, ambulance buses, mobile command centers, mass-care units, and off-road rescue vehicles. We are also working to equip responders with innovative skid units that transform any standard pickup truck into a fully capable wildland firefighting vehicle. These skid units greatly expand firefighting capabilities in rural and underserved areas, ensuring rapid response to wildfires before they become devastating. Additionally, we’re securing donated resources including electric mountain bikes and advanced AI-driven drones. Paired together, these bikes and lightweight drones form an innovative rapid-response solution, providing hands-free aerial support that gives responders immediate situational awareness and enhanced safety in challenging environments. Our goal is to ensure that responders can deploy drones on-demand without waiting for specialized teams, gaining crucial, real-time intelligence during high-risk events.
