The mission encompasses truths so deep that they can seem “movie-like” at times. It signifies the ultimate quest for answers about life. It will comprise of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary study of the mechanisms related to and responsible for internal dimethyltryptamine (DMT) production within the human body. We believe that the significance regarding naturally produced DMT is potentially far greater than simply providing “hallucinatory” visions within the mind. A combination of transparency in terms of lab results, finances, open discussion, and the journey of the study in video documentary format (as well as audio/written) will provide the platform for the general public to comprehend the implications.

WHM Breathing Brain Waste Study ($75k DMT Quest Match)
This is a study that could revolutionize how brain health and neurodegenerative conditions are addressed. Most believe that sleep is the predominant way in which metabolic waste is removed from the brain. However, periphery evidence suggests that respiration can also have an impact on metabolic waste clearance of the brain via changes to cerebrospinal fluid production and movement. In 2023, a Medical Hypothesis paper titled:Can Wim Hof Method breathing induce conscious metabolic waste clearance of the brain? Now we will test this hypothesis with a study at the Zeidan Lab at UC San Diego . Dr. Fadel Zeidan is one of the most published neuroscientists in the world regarding pain and meditation. He is excited to conduct this WHM Breathing study to verify whether enhanced CSF clearance and glymphatic activation takes place from this technique. DMT Quest has donated $75,000 USD to carry out this study. We are looking to raise an additional $75,000 USD from Wim Hof Method supporters in order to carry out this study in 2025. Please share this fundraising link with WHM supporters so we can carry out this very important research!

DonateDoes Cold increase DMT in the Brain? (DMT Quest $50k Match)
This is a research study that will take place at UC Davis at the Olson Laboratory utilizing live micro-dialysis sampling to measure whether exposure to cold immersion increases DMT levels in the mammalian brain. This will be the first study in history to measure the effects of cold exposure on endogenous psychedelic changes. There is evidence to suggest that this could be a key component to the benefits of cold immersion based on the effects of hippocampal neurogenesis, large scale neuroplastic effects, and anti-inflammatory properties. Please help contribute to this study fundraiser and help DMT Quest by matching our $50k contribution towards this research! The total study will cost $130k to complete with a target date to start in Spring 2025. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9953392/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6411820/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8570411/
