Cycle City Network Nepal (CCNN) is a non-profit organization founded in 2012 with the mission of promoting cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation in Nepal. Their goals include advocating for bicycle-friendly policies and infrastructure, raising awareness about the benefits of cycling, and encouraging active participation in cycling culture.
CCNN's past activities have included organizing cycling events, such as bike rallies and awareness campaigns, collaborating with local governments to implement bicycle lanes and parking facilities, and conducting educational programs on road safety and cycling skills. We have also worked on projects to assess the feasibility of cycling as a mode of transport in Nepalese cities.
Currently, CCNN continues to advocate for cycling-friendly policies and infrastructure development at the local and national levels through their initiative My way, Greenway. Under their Campaign My way, Greenway, a mobile application platform has been developed to give bicycle users to record their rides and actively let them know about the amount of carbon is being saved. Under the initiative it has been organizing different campaigns such as Bicycle to School, Women on Wheel, Bicycle to Work and Bicycle Sharing by collaborating with humanitarian agencies, government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to promote cycling as a solution to urban mobility challenges.
