Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR, www.cienciapr.org) is a global community of more than 15,000 scientists, students, educators, and allies who understand that science can empower individuals with the knowledge, capacity, and agency to improve their lives and society.
We celebrate and empower this rich and diverse community and they in turn help us make science information and education more engaging and culturally relevant and improve access to science, technology, engineering, and math careers and opportunities.
CienciaPR’s efforts over the last decade have garnered multiple recognitions, including being named a Bright Spot for Hispanic STEM Education by the White House, a 2018 Science Defender by the Union of Concerned Scientists, and recognized as Breakthrough of the Year in Science Engagement at the Falling Walls conference in 2021.

CienciaPR Fiona Emergency Fund for Seeds of Success
Hurrican Fiona impacted the lives, well-being, and livelihood of many of our Seeds of Success participants, most of whom come from families and communities with modest means and low access to resources. We are collaborating with the Puerto Rico Science and Technology Trust to distribute economic assistance to our students who were most affected. Girls who request assistance will receive $250 to cover any needs and expenses. CienciaPR has already committed $5,000. We are calling on our Seeds of Success collaborators and their employees to contribute to this fund. Funds will go directly to support our Seeds of Success girls. Any funds remaining after all requests have been satisfied will go towards supporting the costs of mental health providers, which we have already secured to provide services to girls participating in our programs and workshops.
