Child’s Dream exists to ensure that children and young adults in the Mekong Sub-Region, affected by inequality, grow up to be healthy and have access to quality education and employment opportunities. To achieve this, we design, implement, and partner to support interventions in Myanmar, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Thailand. These interventions focus on education, employability, youth empowerment and leadership, and basic and essential healthcare.

Our team is made up of passionate, purpose-driven individuals connected by a common set of values; we aim to support beneficiaries in becoming educated and empowered people who responsibly shape and sustain fair, just and healthy societies for generations to come.

VISION: Educated and empowered people responsibly shaping and sustaining fair, just and healthy societies for generations to come.

MISSION: We exist to ensure that children and young adults in the Mekong Sub-Region, affected by inequality, grow up to be healthy and have access to quality education and better employment opportunities. Everything we do enables them to live empowered and self-determined lives as equal and active members of society, with the potential to become responsible leaders of change.

STRATEGY: We design, implement and partner to support interventions for children and young adults in Myanmar, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Thailand. We address current and future needs by pursuing the following strategic goals:

  • Building schools and other educational infrastructure
  • Improving access to basic education
  • Improving quality of education
  • Providing skills training to enhance employability
  • Supporting youth development and empowerment
  • Developing future leaders, specialists and entrepreneurs
  • Supporting basic and essential health care
  • Supporting targeted emergency relief

HOW IT ALL STARTED

After many years in the financial industry, our founders - Marc and Daniel - abandoned their careers in order to help the underprivileged in our society. Without knowing what to expect, Child’s Dream was brought to life in October 2003 with the help of their close friends and family members. Both realised very soon that they had found new meaning in life and that they were able to put all of their newly gained motivation and endless energy into effective help for children in need.

As of February 2024 there have been 265,295 total direct beneficiaries been reached by ongoing projects. The total number of direct beneficiaries reached by past and ongoing projects is 1,308,329. As of February 2024 there have been 1,002 ongoing projects been supported.

Child's Dream Theory of Change

Disadvantaged children and youth in Myanmar, Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Thailand encounter challenges in accessing and completing quality education, with disparities and inequalities persisting among different groups and regions. Alongside these educational challenges, health concerns such as limited healthcare access, insufficient health education, prevalent unsafe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) diseases, and maternal and child health issues vary across the countries. As a result, individuals are not able to foster the development of their countries and communities, perpetuating poverty and inequalities.

Matt's marathon march with the Childs Dream association

Hello one and all, my name is Matt and on the 21st December 2025 I will be running the Chiang Mai marathon! I am incredibly excited to be taking part in this event and while the training has helped me insurmountably with regards to my fitness and mental health, I wanted to use it as an opportunity to raise money for some who aren't as fortunate as I have been. I have been living in Thailand for two years now, working as a teacher. Throughout my time teaching a wide range of age groups, I have witnessed the profound impact good quality education can have on a child's life trajectory. Childs dream is an association that works all across South East Asia to help build schools, improve access to good quality education and support basic and essential health care needs. These luxuries we so often take for granted are out of reach for millions of children all across South East Asia. It is my firm belief that every single child on this planet deserves the opportunity to go to school and explore there passions through the means of education. This means any pound, cent or baht you could spare could literally be life changing, all forms of donation will mean the world to me and this wonderful association! A massive thank you to Childs dream for giving me the opportunity to raise some money for the association while I take on this challenge. Now let's work to help make some young peoples dreams come true!!
