Bridgeway Foundation LBG is a Ghana-based nonprofit organization dedicated to creating equitable opportunities for children, youth, and underserved communities across Ghana. Our mission is to empower vulnerable populations through education, health, WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene), women and girl-child empowerment, digital inclusion, and community development initiatives that foster dignity, inspire hope, and transform lives.

We operate in some of Ghana’s most underserved rural and peri-urban communities, where lack of access to quality education, clean water, sanitation, digital tools, and basic social support continues to limit the potential of young people. Bridgeway Foundation works to close these gaps by delivering practical, community-driven programs that improve learning outcomes, promote wellbeing, enhance digital literacy, and strengthen community resilience.

Our flagship initiatives—including the Stay in School Program, Bridging the Digital Divide, WASH for Healthy Communities, Girl-Child Empowerment Projects, STEM Clubs, and Community Health Support, directly address barriers that prevent children from thriving academically and socially. From providing school supplies, uniforms, and learning materials to equipping students with laptops, digital skills, safe sanitation facilities, and health interventions, our projects create long-term enabling environments for success.

Every donation to the Bridgeway Foundation produces real, measurable impact. A single contribution can help a child receive a uniform that restores dignity, a laptop that opens new learning pathways, a borehole that brings clean water to an entire community, or school improvements that create safer, more inclusive spaces for learning. Our team works closely with local leaders, teachers, families, and youth to ensure that each intervention is sustainable, culturally relevant, and grounded in community needs.

At Bridgeway Foundation, we believe that transformation begins with opportunity—and with your support, we can continue expanding access to education, sanitation, technology, and empowerment for thousands of young people across Ghana. Together, we can shape a future where every child has the tools and environment they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

Rebuild Yaw Owusukrom School Classrooms

The Bridgeway Foundation is soliciting support to rebuild the Yaw Owusukrom School, where pupils are currently learning in unsafe and deteriorating classroom conditions. The existing structures are increasingly unfit for teaching and learning due to weaknesses such as damaged roofing, cracked walls, poor ventilation, and inadequate classroom furniture, all of which contribute to frequent disruption, especially during heavy rains, and place children and teachers at risk. Challenge Yaw Owusukrom's public school classrooms are severely deteriorated, with cracked walls, leaking roofs, poor ventilation, and insufficient desks, making learning unsafe and frequently disrupted, especially during the rains. Children study in overcrowded, uncomfortable rooms and sometimes miss class when conditions worsen. Teachers struggle to deliver quality instruction. Rebuilding will benefit pupils, teachers, and families across Yaw Owusukrom. Solution Bridgeway Foundation will rebuild and rehabilitate unsafe classrooms at Yaw Owusukrom by strengthening structures (foundation, walls, roofing), improving ventilation, and installing secure doors and windows. We will plaster, floor, and paint to create clean, durable learning spaces and provide essential desks and furniture to reduce overcrowding. This will ensure safe and consistent teaching and learning year-round. Long-Term Impact A rebuilt Yaw Owusukrom School will improve attendance, retention, and learning outcomes by providing safe, weather-proof classrooms where lessons can continue year-round. Better conditions will support teacher effectiveness, reduce health and safety risks, and strengthen community confidence in education. Over time, more children will complete basic education, gain foundational skills, and access better livelihoods, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty.

Amobaka School Renovation: Transforming Lives

Why Amobaka Matters: A Story of 450 Children Waiting for Change The Reality I've Witnessed When I first visited Amobaka D/A Primary and Junior High School in Ghana's Upper Denkyira West District, I saw something that reminded me why I started this work. Over 450 bright, eager, resilient children from farming families sitting in classrooms with cracked walls and leaking roofs. Kindergarteners learning on bare floors. Girls walking dangerous distances to fetch unsafe water from streams instead of being in class. I've lived through similar challenges. I know what it means when your learning environment tells you that you don't matter, that your education isn't a priority. That's why this project isn't just about fixing buildings; it's about telling these children that they deserve better and then proving it. What Your Support Will Achieve Every dollar invested in this project creates measurable, lasting change: For 450+ Students: 6 renovated classrooms with safe roofs, reinforced walls, proper ventilation, and functional furniture transforming daily learning from an endurance test into an opportunity Clean water access eliminating the need for dangerous water collection trips and reducing waterborne illness by an estimated 70% 40-60% improvement in attendance , particularly among girls who currently miss school to fetch water For Kindergarten Learners: A dedicated play and learning area with age-appropriate materials because early childhood development shouldn't happen on a dirt floor Foundational learning resources that give our youngest students the start they deserve For the Entire Community: Trained local maintenance teams ensuring sustainability Stronger school-community partnerships through the Parent-Teacher Association A model that can be replicated in other underserved rural schools The Investment Breakdown Total project cost: $38,000 implemented over 8 months $20,000 → Safe, functional classrooms for daily learning $10,000 → Clean water infrastructure saving thousands of hours and countless health risks $6,000 → Early childhood learning environment $2,000 → Monitoring, training, and ensuring long-term success Cost per child: Just $84 to transform a student's entire educational environment. The Ripple Effect When girls don't have to fetch water, they attend school. When they attend school consistently, they complete their education. When they complete their education, they break cycles of poverty not just for themselves, but for their future families and communities. When kindergarteners have proper learning spaces, they build cognitive and social skills that determine their trajectory for years to come. When classrooms are safe, teachers can focus on teaching instead of managing structural hazards. Why I'm Committed I've dedicated my life to this work because I believe that where you're born shouldn't determine whether you get a chance. These 450+ children in Amobaka didn't choose to be born into rural poverty. But with the right intervention at the right time, they can choose their futures. This project addresses urgent, life-threatening needs while creating conditions for long-term educational success. It's community-led, measurable, and designed to last. Most importantly, it's achievable, we know exactly what needs to be done. Join Us in Making This Real Every child at Amobaka deserves to learn without walls crumbling around them, to drink water without risking their health, and to begin their education with the tools they need to succeed. With your support, we can make that happen one classroom, one borehole, and one childhood at a time. The children of Amobaka are ready. Are we?
