AFWAG operates under the guidance of its Board of Directors, tasked with overseeing the organisation's governance and strategic choices. This board is characterised by its diversity, consisting of individuals from various professional backgrounds. It includes experts in the non-profit sector, advocates for gender equality, specialists in finance and legal matters, as well as representatives from the communities we work with.

AFWAG primarily serves CEOs and Founders of gender-focused social enterprises, as well as emerging young leaders who establish social ventures addressing women's and girls' issues. Additionally, staff members from our partner organisations are key beneficiaries. They play a crucial role in distributing and implementing our initiatives and resources. Secondary beneficiaries include women and girls who directly benefit from the efforts of our partners.

AFWAG's leadership development strategy encompasses two primary programs: the Her Africa Ubuntu Leadership Fellowship, a 6-month intensive designed to enhance the skills of CEOs, founders, and social entrepreneurs focused on women's and girls' issues in low-income African regions, and the Her Africa Early-stage Entrepreneur Incubator, aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs under 35 in launching and developing social enterprises. Both programs are committed to providing participants with essential leadership tools, network expansion opportunities, and strategic support to amplify their impact and foster meaningful community change.
