Help us keep the promise.
Ahadi means “promise” in Swahili. Our promise is simple: no young person should face mental health challenges alone.
More than 15 million young people in Tanzania face mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma and substance use. Yet limited funding, stigma, and a severe shortage of mental health professionals leave too many young people without timely, affordable support.
This is more than a health crisis: it is a youth wellbeing and livelihoods crisis. When mental health challenges go untreated, they affect education, employment, relationships, productivity and young people’s ability to build their futures.
Ahadi is changing what access looks like.
As Tanzania’s first hybrid mental health platform, Ahadi brings quality, confidential and stigma-free support closer to young people; wherever they are and with whatever they have. We combine the Ahadi App, SMS Helpline 15061 and Hotline 199 with school and university outreach, community-based support and a growing network of trained community health workers.
Our approach is already reaching scale:
- 1.1M+ young people reached: Mental health awareness, prevention, and support across Tanzania.
- 21,000+ active Ahadi users: Accessing mental health information, self-help, screening, and care.
- 104+ frontline responders trained: Equipped to identify, support, and refer people with mental health needs.
- 88.5% wellbeing improvement: Positive outcomes recorded among assessed users using WHO-standardized tools..
Your support makes it possible to:
- Expand safe spaces where young people can seek support without fear or stigma.
- Train and grow a community-based mental health workforce.
- Strengthen our digital platforms so every call and message can reach a safe, timely response.
- Build smarter referral systems that connect young people to appropriate care faster.
- Scale access beyond major cities to underserved communities across Tanzania.
Your donation, their journey to care:
- $25 → Supports 2 young people with mental health support.
- $50 → Connects 4 young people to counselling or follow-up care.
- $100 → Supports 8–10 young people from triage to follow-up.
- $500 → Reaches 40–50 young people with support, safe spaces and referrals.
- $1,000 → Supports 80–100 young people while strengthening Ahadi’s digital and community systems.
Invest in Ahadi. Scale impact. Protect Tanzania’s youth. Transform futures.
