The Upendo fund is one close to our hearts. From our first visit to Zawadi Yetu, we instantly fell in love with the kids and wanted to continue supporting their educational journeys. Unfortunately, the economic opportunities areas like Mogotio are such that families often have to make difficult and uncomfortable decisions, decisions that may sacrifice longer term outcomes for immediate necessities. Children bear the brunt of these tradeoffs, with gaps in their ability to pay school fees, to attend school, or even to have a loving adult around if the family provider needs to leave to find work beyond the community. The Upendo fund supports these students’ needs, ensuring they are able to attend school with the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom, and the supervision and nurturing they need to be kids.

Ufanisi means excellence, and thats exactly what we want to bring to the students at Zawadi Yetu. This fund helps us bring excellence to Mogotio in the form of child psychologist and Teach for Kenya teacher salaries which wouldn't otherwise be possible. Help us bring the best of the best to Mogotio.
