Village Development Centre

The “Village Development Centre” is serving among elders and addressing their needs at the grassroots level. Many seniors (aged 65+) in Tiruchirappalli, India, face extreme poverty and neglect. Having served their families and communities for decades, they are now often left "income-less" as younger generations migrate for work. Struggling to afford even daily food, decent clothing, and essential healthcare, these vulnerable elders are often forgotten, leading to a loss of self-respect and increasing health challenges. They deserve to live their final years with dignity and respect. This project is a direct, practical intervention to restore the self-respect of 1,000 vulnerable elders (men and women) in these villages. A humble donation of just $25 USD per elder will provide them with a full package of essential resources. This includes fresh clothing items (such as two sarees/dhotis, innerwear, towels, and a bed sheet) and a health kit containing essential supplies like bandages, antiseptic wipes, and pain relievers for treating minor injuries and ailments. Your donation directly provides warmth, hygiene, and basic healthcare, significantly enhancing the elders' well-being and preventing minor health issues. Furthermore, this support immediately restores their dignity and eases the financial stress on their low-income families. Distributions will be made on a regular basis. We aim to raise a total of $25,000 to reach our goal of 1,000 elders.
