The University of Crete (UoC) is a young and dynamic institution, committed to high-quality research, education, sustainable development, and societal impact. Founded in 1973, UoC blends a vibrant academic environment with the rich cultural and natural beauty of Crete, offering a lifelong enriching experience for its students. The university operates from two main campuses: Gallos Campus in Rethymno which hosts the Schools of Humanities, Social and Education Sciences, and Voutes Campus in Heraklion, which hosts the Schools of Science and Engineering and Medicine. UoC also disposes important infrastructures, such as the Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Ancient Eleutherna, the Museum of Medicine, the Finokalia Atmospheric Station and the Skinakas Observatory, all contributing to an inspiring academic and cultural life for the community of its students and staff.
