In the turbulent times of the 2020 global COVID-19 pandemic, an inspiring vision took root in the mind of Dr. Raven Baxter. She dreamt of a space where scientific dialogue could be democratized, where barriers to understanding could be dismantled. This dream crystallized as STEMbassy, a weekly live TV series that assembled a dynamic team of scientists, sparking enlightening discussions on the intersection of science and society with a virtual audience.

As the reach and impact of STEMbassy unfolded, Dr. Baxter recognized the potential for something larger. This recognition led to the evolution of her initial idea into a more expansive vision: The Science Haven.

The Science Haven is a monumental leap forward. It represents a broader, more inclusive gateway to the universe of science, passionately dedicated to making science engaging, meaningful, and accessible for everyone, irrespective of their background or prior experiences.

Our curated programs, including the Science Communication Fellowship, Public Lecture Series, and Citizen Science Initiative, provide scientifically robust, friendly, and comprehensive resources to all. One significant project, the Stellar Dreams initiative, promotes inclusivity in astronomy education by gifting 100 telescopes to Black families across the United States, opening up the night sky to new perspectives.

At The Science Haven, we champion the transformative power of science education. Our purpose is to ignite, support, and empower every individual who harbors a passion for science. As we navigate this exciting journey, we remain steadfast in our mission: to create an environment where science is not just a field, but a welcoming community where everyone can thrive.

We warmly invite you to join us on this exhilarating journey of exploration and understanding. Together, we can redefine science, not just as a field of study, but as an integral part of life. Welcome to The Science Haven - your space, your place, in the universe of science. Let's unravel the wonders of science, together!

Help Empower Astronomers: Support the Stellar Dreams Program

Dear Friends, We are The Science Haven, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to democratizing science, fostering curiosity, and bridging the gap between complex scientific concepts and the public. Our mission is simple yet profound - to make science accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all. Founded by Dr. Raven Baxter, an internationally acclaimed molecular biologist and science communicator, our organization has been a beacon of hope and inspiration for many. We believe in the power of knowledge and the magic of discovery, and we're committed to sharing that with as many people as we can. Today, we're reaching out to ask for your support for one of our most important initiatives - the Stellar Dreams Program. This program was created to combat equity deficits in astronomy. A shocking statistic reveals that Black people make up only 1% of astronomers, despite representing 13% of the US population. We want to change this. The Stellar Dreams Program aims to provide 100 deserving students with telescopes, comprehensive astronomy education, and opportunities for community networking. It's our way of opening doors, breaking barriers, and creating opportunities for those who have been historically underrepresented in this field. But we need your help. Our goal is to raise $75,000 to fully fund a pilot year of the Stellar Dreams Program. These funds will go directly towards the purchase of telescopes, the development of educational materials, and the organization of networking events. Your generous donation can make a world of difference. You can help a young, aspiring astronomer see the stars for the first time. You can inspire a student to pursue a career in astronomy. You can change a life. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to reach for the stars. With your help, we can make this dream a reality for 100 deserving students. Please consider making a donation today. Together, we can illuminate minds, inspire hearts, and change the face of astronomy. From a little black girl who always knew she wanted to be a scientist, but for some odd reason thought it was impossible. If you can dream it, you can do it. - Jessica Ransom, Environmental Scientist.
