UN Women estimates that at the current rate of progress it will take 286 years for the world to achieve gender equality. This is unacceptable. So, for the past 18 months, we have been heads down designing an intentionally different kind of organization that will meaningfully accelerate this pace.

Meet Tandem.

We address the biggest impediments to achieving gender equality:

• A profound scarcity of funding and investment for women and girls: Our Reimagining Resources work by shifting mindsets and turning theory into action through community, storytelling, and a fund dedicated to redistributing power and resources to those closest to the challenges and solutions.

• Gender is treated as an afterthought and current solutions tend to address issues in isolation: Our Integrated Solutions team will work with governments, corporations, non-profits, and leaders to ensure the design of programs, policies, and teams have gender equality at their core.

• Most change is incremental: Our Big Ideas team tackles systemic challenges and prototypes just and equitable solutions. Early challenges have included how to transform inner city public spaces, and reconceiving the commercial artist experience. While the challenges are different, the commitment is always the same: to redefine risk, increase return and accelerate the pace of change.
