Shasha Network received its USA nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in 2026. We are on a mission to provide young people across Africa with access to internet connectivity and world-class educational resources. We believe talent is evenly distributed, but opportunity is not. We are using the internet to connect communities to information and, more importantly, free world-class resources to achieve their fullest potential. Countries we work in include Rwanda, Zimbabwe and Kenya.

Help Shasha connect young Africans to learning

Helping young Africans get a great education and good jobs is the work I care about most, and it's why I'm such a fan of Farai Munjoma and Shasha Network. When I was running Kibo, an online computer science university that served over 3,000 learners across Africa, I learned quickly that talent is not Africa's problem. Access is. Our students lost valuable learning time to power cuts, couldn't afford data, or didn't have a laptop. We equipped learning centers with Starlinks, shipped hundreds of laptops and generally spent a lot of time and effort making up for poor infrastructure. Shasha starts where those problems start: secondary school. It partners with schools in Rwanda, Kenya, and Zimbabwe to get them connected with internet, devices, and power, and then teaches students the skills that matter more and more in the age of AI: communicating clearly, collaborating well, learning new things quickly, and turning what they know into income. The model is built to last, too. Shasha raises the funding to get a school set up, and government partners cover the ongoing costs after that. Only about 12 percent of young Africans go to university, so for many of these people, this is their last chance at formal education. Shasha has an amazing opportunity to receive funding through a grant that will match every dollar up to $125,000 through Giving Tuesday. I'm trying to raise $5,000, which the match turns into $10,000. Please give what you can, whether that's $25, $100, or $250, and share this with friends who care about helping young Africans learn, earn, and thrive!

Connect a Classroom, Unlock a Future

Did you know that 64% of Africa remains offline? Millions of learners are missing out on digital learning resources, global educational programmes and mentorship networks that could expand their horizons. Through Shasha Borderless Classrooms , we can help change this. Each classroom becomes a digital hub, connecting learners to high-speed internet, educators to digital skills training, and students to mentorship and a free online library of more than 20,000 books. Our goal is to raise $1,250 to connect an entire school. This covers $650 for once-off hardware installation and $600 for a year of unlimited Wi-Fi. At approximately $0.25 per learner, this investment can reach more than 5,000 young people over the installation’s lifetime. Every contribution brings us closer to connecting Africa’s next generation. And thanks to a generous matching gift, every dollar donated will be matched, doubling your impact. Learn more :
