Help Shasha connect young Africans to learning

Raised

Helping young Africans get a great education and good jobs is the work I care about most, and it's why I'm such a fan of Farai Munjoma and Shasha Network.

When I was running Kibo, an online computer science university that served over 3,000 learners across Africa, I learned quickly that talent is not Africa's problem. Access is. Our students lost valuable learning time to power cuts, couldn't afford data, or didn't have a laptop. We equipped learning centers with Starlinks, shipped hundreds of laptops and generally spent a lot of time and effort making up for poor infrastructure.

Shasha starts where those problems start: secondary school. It partners with schools in Rwanda, Kenya, and Zimbabwe to get them connected with internet, devices, and power, and then teaches students the skills that matter more and more in the age of AI: communicating clearly, collaborating well, learning new things quickly, and turning what they know into income. The model is built to last, too. Shasha raises the funding to get a school set up, and government partners cover the ongoing costs after that. Only about 12 percent of young Africans go to university, so for many of these people, this is their last chance at formal education.

Shasha has an amazing opportunity to receive funding through a grant that will match every dollar up to $125,000 through Giving Tuesday. I'm trying to raise $5,000, which the match turns into $10,000.

Please give what you can, whether that's $25, $100, or $250, and share this with friends who care about helping young Africans learn, earn, and thrive!
