Safe Community Youth Initiative is an organization transforming the lives of girls and young women in Kenya, who are at risk of dropping out of school due to teenage pregnancy.
We envision a society where girls and young women achieve their full potential.
Our mission is to empower girls and young women to achieve excellence and equity in Kenya.
To keep girls in school, the organization implements an Education Program which aims at providing girls and young women with education materials, school uniforms and dignity kits that ensures the girls and young women are enrolled, retained and transition to highest level of education.
In addition, we are implementing a Livelihood & Employment Program which provides girls and young women with skills on generating business ideas, marketing skills and record keeping. In this program we further provide girls and young women with business grants to support them venture into decent enterprises for self-reliance.
The organization implements a Life Skills program. Through this program, we provide girls and young women with skills on self-awareness, goal setting and decision making to promote their confidence and prevent sexual exploitation.
Our Impact Safe Community Youth Initiative has transformed lives of 10,000 girls and young women through life skills, provided 1000 young women with livelihood training to generate income for self-reliance. We have suported 695 girls to access quality secondary school education. We have engaged motor-cycle operators as champions to donate their time as watchdogs, educate other operators in their villages to refrain from impregnating teenage girls and donate material resources to support girls and young women access quality education in Kenya.
