PerbiCubs Foundation Ghana LBG

PerbiCubs Foundation Ghana LBG is a National Non-Profit Organisation incorporated on 13 November 2025 as the charitable arm of Perbi Cubs, a Ghanaian EdTech company founded in 2018 by Naa Anyele Perbi. The Foundation was established to channel philanthropic funding into Perbi Cubs' proven digital literacy platform, which has reached over 19,000 children and recorded more than 1,000,000 quizzes passed to date.

Mission: The Foundation's legal objects, as stated in its Constitution under Ghana's Companies Act 2019 (Act 992), are supporting quality education, poverty alleviation, and promoting gender equality. In practice, it pursues this by funding literacy scholarships, advocacy, research, and digital access for underprivileged children and youth in support of SDG 4 (quality education) and SDG Indicator 4.1.1a (foundational literacy skills).

History and track record: While the Foundation itself is newly incorporated, its parent organization Perbi Cubs has an eight-year operating history. Perbi Cubs was the official partner of UNESCO Accra World Book Capital 2023, delivering the year-long Kanéval reading campaign across 51 schools and generating over 107,000 books read. It was selected for the three-year Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship, through which it onboarded 85 schools for the Inter-School Reading Quiz (ISRQ) 2025 — a campaign watched by over 2 million people through media partnerships. Perbi Cubs also holds Bronze-level evidence certification in Efficacy from the International Centre for EdTech Impact, and has received prior funding from the Mastercard Foundation and the Jacobs Foundation. It is engaged in an ongoing joint research partnership with Carnegie Mellon University, "The Science of Reading Engagement in Africa."

Current activities: the Foundation's flagship initiative is the Reading Champions Scholarship Program, which funds prepaid annual subscriptions to the Perbi Cubs digital literacy platform — over 4,000 curated books with comprehension quizzes — for underprivileged children in Ghanaian basic schools (Primary 2 to JHS 2). Schools are recruited through an application and interview process, onboarded with signed service agreements and a trained School Coordinator, and children are tracked through weekly library periods, weekly celebration assemblies, monthly parent reports, and a comprehensive end-of-term report.

Future plans: the Foundation is running a time-bound campaign, 3,000 Reading Champions, timed to the 60th anniversary of International Literacy Day (8 September 2026) and closing 30 September 2026, aiming to fund full-year scholarships for 3,000 children across the United States, Canada, and Ghana corporate giving channels. Beyond the current campaign, the Foundation intends to scale the Reading Champions model further across Ghana and, longer term, across Sub-Saharan Africa, while deepening its research partnership with Carnegie Mellon University on reading engagement outcomes.

Governance: the Foundation is directed by an Executive Council comprising Naa Anyele Perbi (Founder & CEO, Perbi Cubs; Director), Dr. Yaw Perbi (Director), Amma Serwaa Sefa-Dedeh Lartey (Director and Company Secretary), and Miracule Daniel Gavor (Independent Director), with a Treasurer overseeing budgeting, financial controls, and donor compliance. The Foundation operates under a Shared Services Agreement with Perbi Cubs for staffing and infrastructure, which is disclosed in the Foundation's public-facing materials, and maintains a clear separation between Foundation funds and Perbi Cubs' commercial operations.
