PEN is enabling every African child to learn by doing.
In the Upper East Region of Ghana, there was a young boy named Issifu, living in a humble home – his dad was a mechanic and his mom sold goods in the market.
As he went through elementary school, one of his least favorite subjects was math. One year, his grade in that class was 20%. He dreamed of being a doctor, but with grades like that, it wasn't going to happen. Then in his last year of junior high school, he had a math teacher who used a very different approach in class - he used activities, he made it interesting....even fun! That point marked a 180 degree turn in Issifu's life. He began loving the subject, excelling in it, reaching the top of his class across all the subjects, and today he is studying computer engineering at one of the best universities in Ghana.

Donate manuals to support hands-on STEM education in Ghana
Thank You!!!! Because of your support over 1.7 MILLION children in Ghana, Rwanda and Liberia are engaged in learning! In fact, we are celebrating the impact of PEN in a small, low-cost school in Kasoa (near Accra, Ghana). Every one of their students scored the highest grade on their national science exam. Watch video here: https://youtu.be/8PVthNdBExw *The key to success?* Every one of their teachers was trained by PEN using the strategy outlined in the PEN hands-on STEM manual. *Our challenge?* To put the PEN hands-on STEM Manual in the hands of every teacher working in underprivileged schools in Africa. We aim to distribute 1,800 sets of manuals this year. Each set contains one copy of both the Lower Primary and Upper Primary manuals, covering ALL topics in the primary school science curriculum. *But we need your help.* The cost is just $28 per manual set. That means your gift of $250 equips 9 schools – over 2,700 students will be engaged in active STEM learning. Your gift unlocks the door to learning for African children.
