Music Is First! creates equity and access to music education for all young children and their communities.
We do this by integrating music into elementary school curriculum, which greatly enhances language acquisition (especially second language acquisition), cognitive development, physical coordination, social-emotional well being, and acts as a vehicle for families to create music together. Music Is First! provides research based in-school music and literacy residencies, professional development to teachers, music curriculum, and free resources (lesson plans, instructional videos, etc.) to teachers and parents to foster our mission.

Our Youngest Students Deserve High Quality Music Education!
Every year, Music Is First! brings top-quality music education to Pre-K and TK students in schools across San Francisco and Daly City. Our residencies are culturally expansive and offer instruments, lesson plans/teaching resources for teachers, up-to-date curriculum to over 2,000 students, and free family-engagement concerts. Last year your support helped us accomplish all of it! This year, we set a goal to raise $3000 to provide instrument kits to children and teachers throughout the SF and Daly City school districts, and to cover printing and distribution costs of our curriculum for teachers, families, and students! Make a tangible impact on music education and help us meet our goal for this year!
