Donations fund METR’s assessment of AI capabilities, risks and mitigations, and are crucial for our ability to pursue groundbreaking projects. We keep our evaluations independent and trustworthy by relying on support from a wide range of independent donors.

With the support METR has received, we've produced work such as:

• Measuring AI Ability to Complete Long Tasks, finding that the length of tasks AI agents can complete had doubled approximately every 7 months for 6 years.
• The first Frontier Risk Report, the most comprehensive assessment of misalignment risk at frontier AI companies, based on models and information from Anthropic, Google, Meta, and OpenAI.
• Measuring the Impact of AI on Open-Source Developer Productivity, which found that experienced open-source developers systematically overestimate how beneficial AI tools are for their productivity.
