Health Access Innovation

Health Access Innovation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps people in America access healthcare, by helping them appeal health insurance denials. We provide free, end-to-end appeal support.

Our direct service is human-centered, but assisted by technology we develop that helps us serve people more efficiently. We gather data and curate evidence to build a case for systemic change.

There are over 20 million wrongful denials each year. They have dire consequences for peoples’ physical, mental, and financial well being.They lead to debt, prevent access to care, and worsen health outcomes. Appeals work, but most people never file one. They're busy caring for a family member, working an unforgiving job, or in the hospital just trying to get well.

To date our team has achieved a 95% appeal success rate, and recovered $850,000, with little funding. Most importantly, we've helped many people access care they wouldn't have otherwise.
