At the Edible Prairie Project, we’re on a mission to bridge the food insecurity gap in Campbell County, through our programs and services designed to distribute food to those who need it most. Whether it’s a summer weekend food bag for a child, a basket of fresh veggies, or the seeds and starts to grow a garden at home—together, we can make a difference.
Summer Weekend Meals for Kids
When school ends for the summer, many children face uncertainty about their next meal. Through our Summer Weekend Meals for Kids program, we distribute over 200 kid-friendly, nutritious, and filling food bags every weekend during summer break.
Local Veggie Baskets
Our Local Veggie Basket program delivers the best of Wyoming’s growing season directly to our community. Three seasonal baskets include local produce, meat, honey, and eggs. Baskets are offered for free to families using SNAP or WIC benefits, and we have discounted options for those who don’t qualify for federal assistance but fall below Wyoming’s self-sufficiency standard.
Garden Kits
Free garden kits are made available to SNAP/WIC families that want to grow their own edible garden at home.
Gleaning Program
At the end of each growing season, we partner with local farmers to glean leftover produce from their fields. All the fresh produce collected is donated so it can be shared with local food banks and pantries, including the Gillette Little Free Pantry network.
Little Free Pantry Network
Our Little Free Pantries are open 24/7, and stocked with food, personal care, and household items. These pantries are designed to help community members meet their everyday needs with no applications, and no questions asked.
