**VAANI Deaf Children’s Foundation** is a national nonprofit organisation working for over **20 years** to ensure that **deaf and hard-of-hearing children in India** are **not left behind**. VAANI believes that **communication is the key to education, inclusion, and independence,** and that every deaf child has the right to be heard.

Our work focuses on **early identification, inclusive education, family empowerment, and skill-building**, ensuring that deaf children can grow into confident, capable, and contributing members of society.

**Our Core Programs**
**Newborn Hearing Screening**
We partner with government hospitals and District Early Intervention Centres (DEICS) to screen newborns for hearing loss. Through early detection and intervention, we give children the best chance at developing speech and language skills.
**Educational Intervention**
We run Sadhan Centres and support schools to provide individualised education, focusing on language development, literacy, numeracy, and mainstream school integration. We empower parents as co-educators, training them to support their child’s learning journey.
**Parent & Community Training**
We train parents, teachers, community workers, and health professionals to identify and support deaf children effectively. Our workshops help break stigma, build awareness, and foster inclusion. Skill Development & STEM for Deaf Youth
**Skill Building**
VAANI provides digital literacy, STEM exposure, and vocational training for older deaf children and youth. We aim to equip them with 21st-century skills and career readiness.
**Higher Education & Leadership Programs**
We offer remedial higher education support and mentoring to prepare them for college, employment, or entrepreneurship. We also nurture deaf youth leaders to become changemakers in their communities.

Organized volunteers providing outreach to unhoused folks with urgent relief: warmth, food, humanity, and  connection to services.

Town Bizness exists to bring the necessities of a dignified human life to the unhoused population of Oakland and Berkeley, CA. 
These necessities include good food, reliable shelter, clothing, toiletries, bedding, and basic creature comforts such as safe propane stoves and heaters, radios, and more, depending on each client’s needs. 

We also assist with housing, and keeping folks connected to service providers by supplying telephones and monthly service. 

The majority of folks we serve were born where they now live in tents, and once had property ownership in their families here in the bay area, but no longer do. Most are seniors, and many of them are now sick and/or disabled.

Summit Legal Aid is a nonprofit legal aid organization, based in Washington, PA. It received its nonprofit status in 1979.

Summit Legal Aid serves 10 counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania.  Our mission is to provide civil justice to vulnerable people in need of legal help. Our services empower our clients by keeping families protected, homes secured, and finances stabilized.

Autism Empowerment

Since 1958, Children of the Mekong supports children’s education in Southeast Asia. 

In Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar, we help children grow through [child sponsorship](https://www.childrenofthemekong.org/sponsor-a-child/) and [education projects](https://www.childrenofthemekong.org/get-involved/support-a-project/).

Our priorities of action are early childhood, girls' education, slums, rural populations, refugees, children with disability, and ethnic minorities.

Children of the Mekong

Also known as ANAK-Tnk, an NGO that serves the poorest children of Metro Manila through Education, Health, Nutrition, Protection.

Founded in 1998, Tulay ng Kabataan Foundation is a registered NGO whose mission is to serve the poorest children of Metro Manila. Their mission is to raise funds to support the Foundation in Manila and to help every child to reach the fullness of his human vocation, through his basic needs and rights, his desire to study or to get a training, his wish to be reconciled to his family and his thirst for being loved. The goal of TNK is to give back self-dignity and confidence to the children and to lead them to a complete autonomous life. A large team of Filipinos employees (street educators, psychologists, social workers) and community workers are whole-heartedly dedicated to taking care of the 1500 children. Thousands of children have already been helped through the 4 programs of the foundation: Street children Scavenger children Children in slums Mentally challenged youth TNK Foundation is supported by ANAK-TNK platforms. They are associations managed by a local volunteer team.

Empowering children to LEARN artistic skills, HEAL from trauma, EARN through their creativity to THRIVE at school & in life.

Faces Up Uganda (Faces Up) is a youth-led, community-based not-for-profit that serves young people (6-25 years), in and out of school, refugees, juveniles, and those with disabilities. Our current focus areas include Wakiso and Kampala districts, plus Nakivaale refugee settlement, in Isingiro district.

We serve young people like Mark. In 2019, Mark joined our program. His initial drawings were dark scenes of violence, death, and despair. We later learned he was a refugee from South Sudan, carrying trauma he couldn’t express in words. So we gave him what he needed: space, pencils, and presence. Over time, his drawings transformed from guns to flowers, from fire to birds in flight. His smile returned, his confidence grew, and his performance at school improved. Mark’s journey showed us that art is more than expression; it’s healing. 

That’s why our team is on a mission to extend arts education to all young people like Mark. 

Faces Up Uganda

Providing community-based rehabilitation, wheelchairs & inclusive education for children with disabilities living in Uganda
 


Kyaninga Child Development Centre (KCDC) was founded in 2014 to provide much needed, high quality, specialized and affordable therapy and rehabilitation to children with disabilities and their families and carers in western Uganda in order to enable them to lead more independent lives.  The Inclusive Education Hub provides professional development for teachers in Inclusive, child-led teaching practices and the Mobility workshop designs, develops and manufactures wheelchairs using locally available materials, suitable for the local terrain.

In addition to this, KCDC acts as a platform for education and support in the field of disability, offering training as well as guidance on best-practice methods to both individuals and healthcare professionals as well as communities and other institutions requiring assistance.
