Capitalize for Kids

Capitalize for Kids is a charitable organization dedicated to improving Canada’s community mental health system, so all children, youth, and families can thrive. As Canada’s only team of expert management consultants tackling complex problems in the sector, Capitalize for Kids is empowering mental health agencies by creating a more efficient, accessible system, because kids can’t wait.

Capitalize for Kids began in 2014 as a charitable investors’ conference that raised $1 million for the Centre for Brain and Mental Health at SickKids. Since then, we’ve evolved into Canada’s top team of mental health system change experts dedicated to building a more efficient and accessible community child and youth mental system.

To date, we have raised over $21 million to support the child and youth mental health sector — allowing counsellors and therapists to focus on what matters most – the kids.

We’re supported by our premier flagship events, which unite leaders from finance, business, and philanthropy to invest in better outcomes for kids. These events not only generate critical funds but also spark dialogue, build partnerships, and amplify our mission. Our work is further strengthened by a network of generous donors, passionate supporters, and purpose-driven corporate partners who share our vision for a more effective child and youth mental health system.

What sets our model apart is how we reinvest these resources: through granting dollars and pro bono consulting services delivered by our expert team to community child and youth mental health agencies. We focus on high-leverage opportunities—places where strategic improvements can unlock capacity, streamline operations, and ultimately help more children and youth get the timely, quality care they deserve.

Together, this approach removes barriers, reduces waitlists, and drives transformation across the sector—ensuring every dollar raised translates into meaningful, measurable impact such as kids getting the treatment they need and when they need it.
