Best Buddies Philippines is part of a global movement centered on friendship and inclusion. It began in Manila in 2014, inspired by the broader vision of Best Buddies International—to end the isolation of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). What started as a few friendship programs and two ambassadors leading the cause in Metro Manila has grown into a dynamic network of chapters in schools, universities, and communities across the country.

The core of the programs focus on matching individuals with and without IDD in one-to-one friendships. Matching a person with a without disabilities is built on shared interests, mutual respect, and genuine connection. The goal is to ensure people with IDD feel seen, heard, and included—not just in schools, but in society at large.

Best Buddies Philippines runs programs that help young adults with IDD prepare for the workforce. Through Leadership Trainings and the Pre-Employment Training Program (PEP), participants build essential skills in communication, time management, teamwork, and other workplace basics to find meaningful employment.

At its core, Best Buddies Philippines believes in building a world where everyone belongs. Through friendships, leadership development, inclusive events, and integrated employment opportunities, the organization continues to shape a more compassionate and connected future—one buddy at a time.

Sounds of Change Benefit Concert for Inclusion

Sounds of Change is more than a concert. It is a celebration of friendship, talent, and the extraordinary things that happen when every person is given the opportunity to belong. This annual fundraising event will bring together musicians, self-advocates, students, volunteers, and community leaders on September 24, 2026 where they will share one stage for one purpose: to build a world where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are recognized not for their limitations or labels, but for their talents and gifts. Every performance tells a story of courage. Every song represents a friendship in the making. This collaborative event is at the very core of what our Friendship Program does to empower a community. New and old friends and buddies coming together and unite through the performing arts. Our musicians perform side by side with unified artists to discover confidence, find their voice, and experience the joy of being celebrated for who they are. For the audience of music lovers with and without disabilities, it becomes a powerful lesson that true leadership begins with radical collaboration, friendship, respect, and belonging. Your Gift Creates Opportunities Proceeds from Sounds of Change directly support the expansion of our life-changing Friendship Program, creating opportunities for individuals with and without IDD to build meaningful friendships that boost confidence, empower leaders, and create a sense of belonging. Thanks to supporters like you, Best Buddies Philippines has already: Established 2 1 Friendship Chapters across the Philippines. Created opportunities for more than 2,089 individuals with and without IDD to build one-to-one friendships. Trained 55 self-advocates to become confident public speakers and leaders. Suppported 52 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) prepare for meaningful employment. Placed 12 individuals with IDD in internships or full time jobs with partner companies But many Filipinos with disabilities are still waiting for an opportunity to belong. Every Donation Makes a Difference $4,285 trains 60 educators on how to run the one to one Friendship Program beyond Metro Manila and expands Best Buddies programs into new schools. $2,500 empowers 20 self-advocates through our Leadership Program, helping them build confidence and become a voice for inclusion. $50 provides one training kit for an educator to run the Best Buddies Friendship Program in their school. No matter the amount, your generosity creates opportunities that last far beyond a single performance. When you support the Sounds of Change Benefit Concert, you are helping individuals with and without disabilities discover their confidence and develop lasting friendships so that they belong to a community which is safe and Together, we can create a future where every person is seen, valued, included, and celebrated. Because when everyone has the chance to shine, our entire community becomes stronger.
