Strengthening Families to Achieve Self-Sufficiency

AFC-CDC has been developing permanent housing with supportive services since 1995 and successfully assisted and provided permanent housing to over 700 low-income families and individuals for over 26 years preventing our clientele from returning to homelessness and assisting them with case management supportive services. 

Our mission
AFC- Community Development Corporation's mission is to preserve and expand affordable housing and provide supportive services for low-income individuals and families; including those with special needs, the homeless, and those with physical and mental disabilities.

AFC- Community Development Corporation's vision is to develop affordable housing and provide sustainable services for low-income individuals and families providing the tools to help them to achieve self-sufficiency and prevent homelessness.

Benefits for our Families
We are decreasing the likelihood of our families returning to homelessness, joblessness, and helplessness by providing them with affordable housing with linkage agreements to all mainstream community supports, that will make the housing sustainable.

AFC-CDC's Services
A.) Supportive Housing
Supportive Housing provides individuals and families with housing; first placing them in service-enriched, affordable housing that is designed to give them a jump-start to self-sufficiency and housing stability.

B.) On-Site Case Management
Secondly, we provide on-site case management with linkages to mainstream community-based services and benefits.

C.) Supportive Services
Thirdly, our supportive services component of the program provides tools, resources, and the support needed to strengthen families and help them become self-sustaining, productive entities within the community.

AFC-CDC's Impact
1.) 700 individuals served in PSH since 1995 & 86 were served in 2024

2.) 28% of individuals in PSH are children

3.) 85% of our Youth and Young Adults are High School and College Graduates

4.) 100% of PSH Households maintained or increased their income in 2024
