Wrexham AFC Foundation is the Club’s official charity. We use the power of football and the club to positively change the lives of children and young people. Bringing the club into the community through engaging programmes across Wrexham and beyond.

Over the past 12 months we have strengthened our presence across Wrexham and North Wales, delivering life-changing programmes and building key strategic relationships. At the same time, the story of Wrexham AFC has continued to inspire international attention, allowing us to share our impact, learn from others, and contribute to a wider movement for positive change through football.

This work would not be possible without the support and commitment of our key partners. The Premier League Charitable Fund, EFL in the Community, and SP Energy Networks have played a vital role in helping us deliver meaningful, long-term impact. Their belief in our mission, and investment in our programmes, has enabled us to reach more people, deepen our delivery, and widen our ambitions.

Central to our success is our team. We’ve taken significant strides on our journey to developing a best-in-class workforce, investing in our people, promoting a culture of development and ambition, and equipping staff with the tools and support they need to thrive. Our people don’t just deliver our work—they embody our values and amplify our impact every day.

This progress has been underpinned by a strong commitment to reach an outstanding level of governance. We’ve continued to build a Foundation that is transparent, accountable, and strategically led—ensuring that every decision we make supports long-term, sustainable impact for the communities we serve.

As we look back on this year, we do so with pride—not just in what we’ve achieved, but in how we’ve achieved it. And as we look ahead, our ambition is clear: to make our club and its fans proud by continuing to work together to positively change children and young people’s lives. With the support of our partners, our community, and our team, we will keep building a Foundation that reflects the spirit of Wrexham—ambitious, inclusive, community-driven, and ready to make a difference—locally and around the world.

Wrexham to New York: Mickey’s Marathon Mission

I’m Mickey Thomas, former Wrexham AFC player and proud supporter of the Wrexham AFC Foundation. On Sunday 15th March, I will be running the United Airlines New York Half Marathon to raise funds for the Foundation’s twinning partnership with Kick4Life FC. In 2024, Wrexham AFC and Kick4Life FC launched a groundbreaking partnership that means a great deal to me personally. This isn’t just about football. It’s about using the game we love to make a real difference. The partnership includes coaching exchanges between Wales and Lesotho, the development of a Football for Good curriculum, and programmes promoting women’s football and youth leadership in both communities. Over the next three years, these initiatives aim to reach more than 3,000 vulnerable children and young people. That’s why I’m lacing up my shoes and taking on this challenge!

NYC Half 2026 - Running for Something Bigger

On 15th March 2026, a team of runners from across the Wrexham community—and beyond—will take on the iconic New York City Half Marathon for the partnership with Wrexham AFC Foundation and Kick 4 Life. In 2024, Wrexham AFC Foundation and Kick4Life FC announced a ground breaking twinning partnership, designed to foster international cooperation and strengthen community impact in both Wales and Lesotho. This collaboration includes coaching exchanges, development of a Football for Good curriculum, and programmes promoting women’s football and youth leadership. Over the next three years, these initiatives aim to reach more than 3,000 vulnerable children and young people across both communities.
