Trust for Civic Life
A grantmaking collaborative supporting the community-led efforts that help Americans solve problems and build a shared future.
The Trust for Civic Life is focused on increasing local civic opportunities that spark participation and get more Americans working together to solve the problems that matter most to them.
The Trust supports this local work through our three core activities: grantmaking, learning, and network building.
Grantmaking: Delivering $10 million in grants annually into locally-led civic programs and efforts in rural regions, through our Civic Hub and Civic Experiment grant programs.
Learning: Unlocking access to insights, tools, and practices that local efforts and philanthropists need to increase funding, reach all community members, and identify successful models.
Network Building: Building a unique cross-sector community of funders and connecting national and regional investments to local groups and practitioners.
Learn why local communities are a key ingredient in bringing Americans together in this short video. And if you're curious to see the progress we've made in our second year of grantmaking, take a look at our 2025 Annual Report.
