The Grove Family Services, Inc.

The mission of The Grove Family Services exists is to facilitate permanency for Bay Area children and youth in foster care, prioritizing family reunification when possible, through nurturing relationships, therapeutic care, and practical support. Our vision is a safe, loving home for every Bay Area child.

We believe that children heal in the context of safe, stable, and supportive relationships. For many children in foster care, the path toward permanency includes maintaining and rebuilding family connections, strengthening caregivers, and providing consistent support during a deeply vulnerable season. The Grove was created to meet families in that space with compassion, structure, and practical help.

The Grove will begin by providing supervised visitation and reunification support services for children and families involved in the child welfare system. These services will include safe, well-supported visits between children and their parents or family members; coaching and skill-building for parents; coordination with county partners and caregivers; careful documentation; and transportation for children when authorized as part of a supervised visit. Our goal is for visits to be more than a required service — we want them to become meaningful opportunities for connection, growth, and healing.

As we grow, The Grove plans to become a licensed Foster Family Agency (FFA) serving children, youth, resource (foster) families, and families of origin throughout the Bay Area. Through this work, we will recruit, train, approve, and support foster and resource families; provide case management and family support; participate in permanency planning; and help ensure that children are cared for in safe, stable, nurturing homes while their long-term permanency needs are addressed.

We also plan to develop therapeutic and behavioral health supports for children, youth, parents, and caregivers. These services may include trauma-informed support, parent coaching, referrals, and eventually outpatient therapy as staffing and funding allow. Across all programs, The Grove is committed to practices that are child-centered, family-focused, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in the belief that families deserve support, dignity, and hope.
