Springdale Public Schools Education Foundation

The Foundation's focus is twofold.  First, SPSEF concentrates on supporting the teaching process by attracting private and philanthropic funds to support and expand educational programs that fall outside the Springdale Public Schools’ normal operating budget.  These funds are disbursed annually through a competitive grant process and are directed toward classroom or school-wide grants that are innovative and promote student achievement. In addition, SPSEF collaborates with donors to learn about their charitable passions and then identifies projects/programs within the Springdale School District that align with the donors’ intentions.   Also, as the Springdale district has grown, it has become more diverse and much more economically disadvantaged. This has created a situation where more and more students are relying on financial assistance to attend college. Thus, the second point of emphasis is for the Foundation to work with donors to establish new scholarship opportunities and to grow existing scholarship funds to help Springdale students attend college.  In an effort to better serve all of Springdale’s students, The Foundation has focused on growing its scholarship program to meet the ever-increasing need for assistance.  Today, SPSEF is the largest Public Education Foundation Scholarship provider in the region, having increased the annual scholarship payout from 7 scholarships totaling $9,500 in 2011 to 80 students awarded over $105,000 in 2025.

SPSEF remains committed to stewarding funds for deserving causes in our schools, and the Foundation is steadfast in its commitment to preserving the integrity of the donors’ intentions.
