Smalltimore Homes is building a liberatory future where communities design for themselves. Rooted in Baltimore and connected to global movements, we draw inspiration from co-ops, collectives, sustainable communities, and off-grid homesteads that demonstrate what shared power and mutual care can look like in practice.
The Simple Truth: when people most impacted by housing inequity are trusted to design solutions, they build futures that sustain all of us.
Based in Baltimore, we work alongside residents to co-create dignified, human-centered housing models rooted in mutual aid, shared power, and lived experience.
Our journey has been shaped not only by local wisdom but by what we’ve learned from global co-ops, eco-villages, sustainable communities, and off-grid homesteads whose practices show what’s possible when community becomes the center of design. These lessons help us reimagine housing through regenerative, climate-resilient, and non-extractive frameworks that challenge the limitations of the nonprofit industrial complex.
Our impact is hands-on and community-led. Donations support inclusive micro-shelter prototypes built with residents, tool and design training that empowers people to shape their own environments, digital equity programs that expand opportunity, and neighborhood-driven planning projects that strengthen safety, connection, and belonging. Every project is a tangible step toward a liberatory housing ecosystem where dignity is not conditional—it’s guaranteed.
As we grow, we welcome collaboration with sustainable organizations, DAOs, crypto donors, cooperatives, community labs, and innovators across cultures and climates who share a vision for equitable, community-driven development. Protecting Homes, Health & Dignity During Extractive Policy Shifts As policies shift and systems extract, families in redlined communities are hit first and hardest. This mutual aid fund supports housing stabilization, eviction prevention, healing spaces, and rapid-response care for elders, immigrants, and families denied support due to systemic barriers.
