Formed in 2025, our roots in rescue run deep. We’ve been in the rescue world for over a decade, and many of our partners have been saving dogs for 30+ years. In all things we do, we’re a hands-on foundation. Our work has given us the first-hand experience, insight, heartbreak, and motivation to do more in a much larger way and with laser focus.
Our origins started breed-specific, but our mission has grown. Today, Simon Says Foundation exists to help save all dogs, everywhere. We support the smaller rescues and networkers who do 80% of the actual saving and the shelters across the Unites States and Canada who struggle every day with basic care and necessities.
The Simon Says Foundation helps rescues save more effectively. We offer resources, mentorship, and support every way we can.
- There is not a single standardized "how-to" rescue guidebook. The rescue world is as diverse as the dogs they serve.
- Rescue and shelter work is some of the most demanding, stressful, and heartbreaking in the world.
- We help coordinate like-minded rescues into a consortium network working TOGETHER to save.
We know first-hand the main reason so many dogs are saved is because of the networkers who volunteer their time, money, and heart.
- Many new or small rescues are started by well-meaning individuals unfamiliar with the intense emotional, financial, and operational demands of life saving rescue work.
- Saving dogs needs strong, established relationships with shelters across the country who are on the front lines of dog rescue.
Legislative reform is often blocked by the very institutions claiming to champion change. For them, a solution means less profit.
- Despite hundreds of millions spent and endless rhetoric, meaningful progress remains elusive and fragmented.
- The 501 and charity industries need a ground-up overhaul. Many of them take in much more than they give back.
- We'll show you where all that money isn't going - to the dogs.
We also want to pull back the curtain on the dog charity "industry" to help create a world where saving dogs is more about heart and less about business.
