Even before COVID-19, SHSV was assisting 1 in 10 people in Silicon Valley with feeding themselves and their families. They estimated that a further 1 in 4 people were at risk of hunger in the Valley. This need has only increased. 

Second Harvest Food Bank is playing a critical role in helping families feed themselves during the current crisis. In the past 2 weeks they've seen the number of calls from food insecure individuals asking for help increase from ~200 to over 1000 per day. 

So many people are out of work and need help, struggling for basic necessities. I can't imagine having hunger compound the already intense anxiety of COVID.

These organizations are essential in ensuring that families and children do not go hungry in this time of crisis.
